In some cases, the support payor and the support recipient prefer to arrange for support payments to take place privately between them without our involvement.

Here's how to withdraw from the program.

    1. When support payments are up-to-date
    2. Both parties must agree in writing to withdraw from the program.

Complete a Notice of Withdrawal Form and return it to our office at:

      The Family Responsibility Office
Ministry of Community and Social Services
      PO Box 220
      Downsview ON M3M 3A3

    3. If the support payor is behind in making payments
    4. If the case is in arrears, the support recipient may withdraw without the support payor's consent.

The support recipient must complete a Notice by Support Recipient of Unilateral Withdrawal Form and return it to our office at:

      The Family Responsibility Office
Ministry of Community and Social Services
      PO Box 220
      Downsview ON M3M 3A3

We will then notify the support payor and stop all enforcement on the case.

    5. If the support order is assigned to Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program
    6. If the support order is assigned to Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program, the appropriate social services provider (Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program) must also consent to withdraw. Contact your social services provider to discuss this option.

    Re-registering a case

If the support payor and the support recipient decide to re-register the case with us at a later date, both parties will have to pay a $50 fee.
