The Family Responsibility Office collects, distributes and enforces child and spousal support payments.

(Please note that we deal only with enforcement. We are not involved in motions to change or other entitlement issues.)

We are mandated through the following legislation:

Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act, 1996

This Act gives us the authority to enforce:

• Support Orders
• Support Deduction Orders, and
• Domestic Contracts filed with the court.

The Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act, 2002

This Act allows us to enforce child and spousal support payments when one party lives outside of Ontario.
