If you want to enforce a support order under the Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act, 2002 , follow the instructions under the scenario that applied to your situation.

  1. If the support order was made in a reciprocating jurisdiction, and one or both parties now reside in Ontario, it is easy to register the order in Ontario for enforcement.
    • Simply complete the Family Responsibility Office Registration Package and attach three (3) separate certified copies of the order.
    • Certified copies of your support order may be obtained from the court that made the order. When the package is complete, send it to the ISO Unit at the address below.
  1. If the support order was made in Ontario and one party lives outside Ontario,
    • complete the Family Responsibility Office Registration Package,
    • attach a copy of the order
    • send it to the ISO Unit at the address below.
  1. If the support order was made in a non-reciprocating jurisdiction, and the support payor is residing in Ontario,
  • you will need to obtain an Ontario support order for enforcement. You may contact the court or a lawyer for advice on next steps.
