If you are receiving Ontario Disability Support Program Income Support, you and your family will get coverage for prescription drugs that are:
How do I get this benefit?
A drug card will be mailed to you each month with your cheque or statement. You can use this card for prescription drugs in the following month. The card lists the names of all family members who are eligible for drug coverage.
You need to present your drug card to the pharmacist when you give them your prescription.
Some pharmacists may ask you to pay a fee (co-payment) of up to $2 per prescription.
If the prescription drug you need is not listed in the Ontario Drug Formulary
Your doctor can ask the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to cover the cost of the prescription drug.
The ministry will review the request and let your doctor know its decision.
To find out how to ask for coverage for prescription drugs not in the Ontario Drug Formulary, contact your doctor.
